COCA (Ecuador) - NUEVO ROCAFUERTE (Ecuador)
Are we just natural born control and freaks?
We arrived at Coca Ecuador with the idea of taking a boat/cargoboat down the Napo river to Iquitos Peru, and from Iquitos to Yurimaguas. We honestly had made ourselves the idea that this was only one of those dreams that sadly does not come true. We had been searching for information on how to get to Iquitos for weeks, but all we obtained was either a negative response or contradicting possibilities. There are actually no tour agencies, official boat companies or reliable sources of information to go from Coca to Iquitos. All we knew was that there was a cargo boat that leaves the boarder every time it's full. Along with a few locals' numbers who lived either in Coca or Iquitos and some who lived near the boarder area between Ecuador and Peru. They were the only source of semi reliable information as some of them complete this journey when needed and know when the famous cargo boat is near them. One of the most reliable sources of information was FERNANDO CIFUENTES Tlf: 06 382249 (who's know by everyone in Coca) and "WILLY" a guide in Iquitos TLF: 00 51970920113 who can inform you alternative ways of getting to Iquitos with out waiting for the cargo boat.
