La mayoría de nosotros supimos de aquella campaña de turismo australiano "THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD", y la mayoría pensamos… "¿Te imaginas ganar algo así?" "Eso es solo para unos pocos afortunados…" "Un sueño hecho realidad". Solo una persona ganó ese premio y los demás nos quedamos babeando e imaginando cómo podría haber sido. La verdad es que, de vez en cuando, sería mejor dejar la lotería y los concursos a un lado, porque la suerte no siempre te acompaña, porque cruzar los dedos no siempre funciona y porque pensar que no eres lo suficientemente afortunado para tener algo así, tampoco.
Lots of us heard about "the best job in world" campaign, launched by the Australian board of tourism. Most of us must have thought for a split second, what it would be like to have that job. Could something like this ever be possible? To earn money and live in paradise? A job where work, hobbies and leisure mix to perfection?
En la escuela se olvidaron de explicarnos que no todos los trabajos que pueden hacerte feliz están en infojobs, monster o domestica, y los australianos se olvidaron de añadir en su campaña que THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD no es solo para unos pocos.
Olvídate de rellenar hojas de solicitud y formularios. A veces es tan simple como salir a la calle, ir a una tienda para arreglar tus gafas de submarinismo estropeadas, iniciar una conversación y que te ofrezcan uno de los mejores trabajos del mundo. En efecto, así es como ocurrió. Un día normal en Kuala Lumpur que, en principio, no prometía gran cosa.
En nuestro caso, gracias a una máscara de buceo y al diseño, conseguimos uno de los mejores trabajos del mundo, sin hojas de solicitud, sin jugar a la lotería y sin cruzar los dedos.
We've found out that sometimes it's best to not play the lottery, or depend on contests to obtain what one really wants, because of the near fact that the probability of winning one of these, is the equivalent of getting hit by lightning twice. Luck is definitely not an issue.
In school they forgot to tell us that the job that will make you happy will not always be found in jobseekers, monster or linkedin and the Australian board of tourism also forget to mention that the bet job in the world is not only for a selected few.
Sometimes it is as easy as taking your broken diving mask to a shop, start a conversation and get offered the best job in the world. And that's exactly what happened to us. It was just an ordinary day in Kuala Lumpur, one of those days where you didn't expect much to happen, until it did.
In our case, thanks to a diving mask and design we were offered one of the best jobs in the world. No contests, no lottery, no crossed fingers.
